Marisol Limon Martinez is a visual artist, musician and writer from San Antonio, Texas. She received her BA in Art History from Barnard College, and did classical piano studies at the Manhattan School of Music. Her books include After you, dearest language (Ugly Duckling Presse) & First Space, Then Structures (Nothing Moments Press). She was also co-founder/editor of the newspaper New York Nights and active with performances and publications by Loudmouth Collective. Her work is in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, the Cleveland Museum of Art, Yale University, and the University of Texas at Austin, amongst others. She has been the recipient of The Pollock Krasner grant, a National Endowment of the Arts and NYSCA grant for an artist's residency at Women's Studio Workshop, and a Ford Foundation grant in performing arts. After recording and touring as a pianist with Scott Matthew for two years, she recorded her first solo EP under the name Marisol Limon. She has a music duo with Jeanann Dara and their band Smoke & Flowers. Marisol exhibits and performs internationally, and lives in Brooklyn.
